
Macintosh at CSU
Welcome to the Macintosh page. This area will provide general information in regards to the Macintosh population at Columbus State University. Our campus is now a diverse Mac environment. Macs ranging from Mac Minis to full servers can be found throughout Columbus State University.
OS X is the official name of the Macintosh operating system. Most Macs on campus are running version 10.5 or higher.

Standard Software Programs Installed on CSU Macs
- Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac

- Safari (Apple's built-in web browser)
- Fetch 5 (FTP program)
- iLife (preinstalled on most Macs)
- iWorks (Apple's version of Microsoft Office)
- Prosoft NetWare client (allows access to Novell network drives)
- OpenOffice 3.1 (only on Intel-based Macs)
- RealPlayer
- Adobe Reader
- Adobe Media Player
- Windows Media Player
- Flip4Mac (companion to Quicktime to import, export Windows Media files)
- Stuffit Expander

- Woodall 147, English Department (20 iMac computers)
- Broadway Crossing, Downtown (11 iMac computers)
- One Arsenal 111, Art Department (1 iMac, 1 PowerMac)
- One Arsenal 112, Art Department (20 iMac computers)
- Rivercenter 1609, School of Music (8 iMac computers)
- Rivercenter 1712, School of Music (11 iMac computers)
- Arnold 239, Communications Department (3 iMac computers)
One Arsenal 111,112, and Rivercenter 1609 are accessible only with a scan card. The two labs in One Arsenal are also restricted by major; only art majors with a valid scan card can gain entry into the labs.
